Lots of anger on display at Lankford's town hall meeting

I attended U.S. Rep. James Lankford's town hall meeting on Wednesday Aug.13 in Oklahoma City. The crowd seemed to be either extremely right wing or tea party right wing and at times booed the person speaking. I felt a lot of anger in the room. There was even a sign at the entrance that read “Impeach Obama.” So when I read Stanley Hupfeld's “Compromise a key to the greater good” (Point of View, Aug. 14), I felt quite relieved to see that there are still reasonable, open-minded, intelligent people in Oklahoma.

Thank you! Mr. Hupfeld, would you consider running for Congress?
