University of Louisville women's basketball player Antonita Slaughter was alert, answering doctors' questions and undergoing tests at Jewish Hospital Tuesday night after collapsing on the bench early in the first half of the No. 7 Cardinals' 91-49 victory over Missouri State at the KFC Yum! Center, according to USA TODAY.
U of L coach Jeff Walz said it might not be until Wednesday morning before it was determined what happened to Slaughter, who started and scored the first basket of the game but fell over onto a seat with 17:13 left in the first half after coming out of the game in a routine substitution moments earlier.
Walz described Slaughter as having "almost convulsions" as she was quickly attended to by medical personnel and wheeled off the court on a stretcher before being taken to the hospital in an ambulance, USA TODAY reports.
