BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU has opened preseason camp with questions remaining about which players will drive an offense looking to replace starters at quarterback, running back, two receiver spots and right guard.
Coach Les Miles has to nail that down before the season opener against Wisconsin in Houston on Aug. 30.
Sophomore Anthony Jennings and freshman Brandon Harris could be competing much of this month to take over at quarterback. Miles says he "never will put a deadline on naming a starting quarterback for Wisconsin."
Senior running backs Terrence Magee and Kenny Hilliard are competing for carries with freshman Leonard Fournette.
True freshmen receivers Malachi Dupree and Trey Quinn are pushing for playing time, along with sophomore Travin Dural.
Seniors Hoko Fanaika and Evan Washington are vying to start at right guard.
