BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Two of the best offensive performances in the state headline this week's winners of the state college football player of the week honors by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
Tuskani Figaro of Nicholls State, the sophomore quarterback from Lafayette, set a school rushing record with 281 yards in a 44-34 win over Arkansas Tech, while LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger threw for a career-best 372 yards in a 44-41 loss to Georgia. The pair earned offensive POW honors.
Jordan Batiste of Tulane, who had the best game of his young career in the Green Wave's win at Louisiana-Monroe, and ULM punt returner Rashon Ceaser were the other winners.
