LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Substitute Romelu Lukaku scored on his return from injury as Everton snatched a 1-0 win against West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.

Lukaku had been out for a month with an ankle injury and had not scored since December.

But he was introduced on the hour mark and the on-loan Chelsea forward scored the decisive goal nine minutes from time, driving home Leighton Baines' cut-back.

The win will come as a welcome boost as Everton had failed to score in three of its last four league matches and had won just twice since the turn of the year.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce was visibly aggrieved at the end of the first half after Gareth Barry appeared to foul Kevin Nolan when he was clean through on goal.
