Luncheon on the Grass is a celebration of the arts co-sponsored by the Firehouse Art Center, Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, Norman Arts Council and Jacobson House Native Art Center.

Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, food and drinks. The collaborating organizations will provide hands-on art activities, Indian music and storytelling, music and snow cones.

This year's event will precede a Summer Breeze concert at 7 p.m. featuring the Austin-based group, The Trishas.

Two new pieces of public art will be dedicated. Two 4-foot-tall Fiberglas ducks painted with Oklahoma themes will be unveiled. The ducks, designed by artists Chris McDaniel, Christian Pitt and Joshua Pitt, are to be installed at the city's two splash pads at Colonial Estates Park and Andrews Park.

Artists of all ages will be invited to participate in making sun prints with museum staff. Firehouse faculty will assist children in painting duck-themed creations on the Children's Art Wall, and Jacobson House will provide flute music, storytelling and powwow singers.
