Lung cancer remains the No. 1 cancer killer in NY

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Lung cancer remains the number one cancer killer in New York state.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network released statistics this past week estimating that there were 8,880 lung cancer deaths statewide this year, accounting for more than a quarter of all cancer deaths in New York.

The Cancer Action Network estimates that there were 109,440 cases of cancer in New York, with prostate cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer most common.
