— The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art hosts a collection of art spanning 8,000 years, and it also boasts opportunities to hone artistic skills.

During the museum's creative arts camp, children explored the far north of Europe and examined Nordic mythology with Laura Byland, director of the Scissortail Children's Theater. They also performed a play for family and friends on the last day of camp in July.

Now that summer is nearly over, children ages 7 to 18 can enroll in the museum's After-School Art classes that start in September and run through Dec. 13.

The children's work will be included in an art exhibition in May.
