Macomb man dies from injuries suffered in May 29 crash in Pottawatomie County

— A Macomb man died Sunday from injuries he suffered in a May 29 crash in Pottawatomie County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

David Powell, 63, was driving south on Slaughterville Road southwest of Tribbey about 6 p.m. May 29 when his pickup ran off the left side of the road. The pickup struck a fence post, a gate and several trees, troopers reported.

Powell was taken by helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries. Powell died Sunday, troopers said.

Troopers said Powell was driving at an unsafe speed and wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
