Man, woman die in Oklahoma highway crashes

A Tulsa woman died in a crash Friday in Garvin County and authorities have identified a Madill man who died Tuesday in a crash near Davis, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Two people died in separate accidents Tuesday and Friday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Betty Lee Dawson, 71, Tulsa

A Tulsa woman died Friday after her vehicle struck a guardrail in Garvin County.

Betty Lee Dawson, 71, of Tulsa, was traveling south on Interstate 35 about 2 p.m. when her vehicle went off the road and hit the guardrail, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Dawson, who was wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, the patrol reported.

She was dead at the scene of the crash.

Jeromy Dan Chaffin, 39, Madill

Authorities have identified the man who was killed Tuesday in a fiery Murray County crash on Interstate 35.

Jeromy Dan Chaffin, 39, of Madill, was identified by the state medical examiner as the driver who died, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Chaffin was dead at the scene of the crash about 3 a.m. Tuesday 61/2 miles south of Davis, the patrol reported.

He was traveling north on I-35 when the car went off the road, crashed and caught fire, the patrol reported. Chaffin wore a seat belt. has disabled the comments for this article.
