MADRID (AP) — Madrid's city government has voted to name a street in honor of former Spain coach Luis Aragones.

Aragones led Spain to the 2008 European Championship, beginning a winning era that has included the World Cup and a second continental title. He died this month at 75.

The Madrid city council voted Friday to name the street that will lead to Atletico Madrid's new stadium in honor of the club's former manager and player.

Atletico plans to play at La Peineta Stadium in 2016-17.
