Magic Johnson calls Kevin Durant the MVP

Is the MVP race over? According to Magic Johnson it is.

The Lakers legend jumped on the Durant-for-MVP train on Monday, saying the race for the league's Most Valuable Player is finished.

Durant may have sealed up the MVP with his 51-point effort in the Thunder's 119-118 double overtime win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Following the game, Johnson tweeted that Durant scoring 51 "sealed the deal on the MVP race."

"It's over," Johnson said Monday morning on SportsCenter. "Kevin Durant is clearly the MVP of this season. LeBron made a great charge there for a minute. But when you think about the overall season, and what he's been able to do with Russell (Westbrook) being out most of the season - and they still have the second best record in the West - he is clearly the MVP of the NBA this season.

"He's taken his game to a whole other level and I'm happy to see that."
