Magnitude 3.3 earthquake occurs northeast of Shawnee, 15 minutes after quake drill
SHAWNEE — A small earthquake was recorded Tuesday, just about 15 minutes after thousands of Oklahomans participated in the Great Central U.S. ShakeOut earthquake drill.
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a 3.3 earthquake at 10:29 a.m. with an epicenter 21 miles northeast of Shawnee. Earthquakes of this size are among the smallest generally felt by people. No damage was reported.
