Magnitude 3.3 earthquake reported near Medford

The U.S. Geological Survey measured a 3.3-magnitude earthquake Wednesday near Medford.

A 3.3-magnitude earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was detected at 5:15 p.m. about eight miles south-southwest of Medford.

The earthquake was about 2.5 miles deep, especially shallow for an earthquake. Shallow quakes are more likely to be felt.
