The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority said Wednesday that the Lake Hefner flyover bridge will be closed starting Nov. 5 and drivers will have to find an alternate route. OTA says it's anticipated the bridge will be closed for up to 90 days.

The bridge carries an estimated 8,500 motorists per day from westbound Kilpatrick Turnpike onto southbound Lake Hefner Parkway. Drivers will be able to access southbound Lake Hefner Parkway via the Portland Avenue exit.

The project includes the dismantling of a portion of the bridge in order to rebuild a bridge support.

The overall cost of the project is estimated at $54.8 million.
