HIGHER LEARNING • An Awesome Evening was the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics' banquet benefiting the school's faculty awards. The dinner was in the Great Hall of the school's Dan Little Residence Hall. Honored were Hemanth Parasuram and Jane Herron Yaciuk, The Presbyterian Health Foundation and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.
MUSICAL SOUNDS • The KCSC Cuisine Classic, hosted by KCSC 90.1 FM, was held at the Oklahoma History Center. The evening featured food tasting and wines provided by local merchants. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the KCSC Classical Radio Foundation.
RAISING THE ANTE • The City Rescue Mission of Hope Banquet at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum drew 640 patrons. Guest speaker was Mike Yankosk, author of Under The Overpass. Musical entertainment was provided by the City Rescue Mission Choir along with the Hype dance team. The mission's fundraising campaign goal is to reach $2.05 million by Dec. 31. The banquet raised $298,489.
PLAYING HOST • The Phillips Pavilion at the Governor's Mansion was the site of the Oklahoma Public Employees Association dinner for the Southern States Conference. Visitors from Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina and Maryland participated in the evening's events which included a reception, dinner and entertainment by Grammy winner Jody Miller.
