The annual National Weather Festival is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 2, and it highlights the many weather related organizations and activities in central Oklahoma.
Visitors to the 2013 Festival can view the National Weather Center’s premier facilities, located in Norman.
This event features hourly weather balloon launches, emergency response vehicle and equipment displays and weather related information. Visitors can ask experts about your weather fears, tornado safety, storm shelters and weather in Oklahoma.
“Our theme for this year’s festival is ‘prepare, respond and recover,’ and our focus will be on the May tornadoes,” said Rick Smith, warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office.
There is no admission charge to the National Weather Festival. The festival is held at the National Weather Center, 120 David L. Boren Blvd., Norman.
