If you’re searching for the perfect dog or cat to complete your family, you might head to Quail Springs Mall, 2501 W Memorial, this weekend.

Pet Angels Rescue of Oklahoma City will be there with adoptable dogs and cats ready for forever homes.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Oct. 17 and 18.

Pet Angels Rescue will be set up on the mall’s lower level near Sears.

According to The Humane Society of the United States, 6 million to 8 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters in the United States each year. Only half of these animals make it out alive. Most of these animals are healthy when they are euthanized.

Bark Ave. & Meow Place is an innovative concept that allows local shelters and rescue groups to bring adoptable animals to malls, where potential owners can be introduced to them in a welcoming environment.

I had a hell of a time getting our lost boxer puppy back from this "rescue organization" without her neutering him first and stiffing us with the bill. She wasn't going to give him back without altering him first.(nothing against neutering, he's neutered now and for less than what she was going to charge us)we went so far as to have to get the OKC Police involved to explain to her she was in possession of stolen property, after she threatened to make our dog disappear all together. To return our animal to us- here is what she did- she took him to the okc pound, and we went and paid the fee to get him out to get him back. Which, our boxer puppy spent 2 days with her organization which operates out of her home and had a cold we had to have treated by our vet. Watch out for this organization, the president already has a bad reputation with the animal welfare world in Oklahoma City for the conditions in which she keeps the animals she says she's helping.

yeah, adopting kids is cool and all, but it is a lot harder to dump them out in logan county when they wont stop peeing on the floor.

Are they killed in three days if no one wants them? Dogs & cats at local animal shelters are. Many area animal rescues get these dogs & cats from shelters and put lots of time and effort and money into getting them ready for adoption. What the heck do you do to make this world a better place KL? I'm waiting.....................

Consider doing some *real* good. There are 11,393 children in foster care in Oklahoma; 3,993 of these children are waiting to be adopted. You think dogs are cute? Not compared to these: www.adoptuskids.org/Child/ChildSearch.aspx
