Oklahoma City man, 58, charged in death of birds

An Oklahoma City man was charged with a federal crime Thursday in connection with a June 8 incident in which 187 baby cliff swallows were killed at a Lake Hefner boat dock.

Gregory Owen , 58, was charged with the misdemeanor offense of taking the nest of a cliff swallow, which is protected under the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act .
