Oklahoma City police are looking for a man accused of hitting and strangling his ex-girlfriend and then killing his ex-girlfriend's puppy, police said.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance about 9:40 p.m. Monday at the 1600 block of Meyers Place. Officers found a woman holding her dead puppy and crying hysterically, according to the incident report.
The woman told police she broke up with her boyfriend and asked to be dropped off at a family member's house. When he was dropping her off, he started throwing her belongings from his vehicle to the yard and chased her to the front porch.
The man began hitting his ex-girlfriend in front of two children. While the man was hitting the woman, she fell down to the ground. The man then placed his hands around her neck, causing the woman to fear for her life. The woman tried to push the man away when the man bit the woman's left index finger, according to the incident report.
The man walked away from the woman and said, “You care for that dog more than you do for me, I got something for you.” The man got into his vehicle and backed it up; deliberately hitting the cage the dog was in. This action killed the dog and shattered the kennel into multiple pieces, according to the report.
Police went to the man's home but were unable to go inside because of the four large dogs inside. The man's vehicle was not in the driveway.
The man is to be arrested on complaints of domestic abuse by strangulation, domestic abuse in the presence of a minor, cruelty to animals, assault and battery and animal cruelty, according to the report.
