A man accused of stabbing a dog in the face with a pocket knife turned himself in to authorities, Oklahoma City police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

Paul Edward Factor, 46, was booked into Oklahoma County Jail on Thursday and released on $30,000 bond.

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Factor in Oklahoma County District Court. Authorities accuse Factor of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and animal cruelty, according to the warrant.

Factor is suspected of stabbing a 3-year-old mastiff named Lucy on Aug. 2, 2013, at Beck’s Garage, 4217 N Western Ave.

A 4-inch pocket knife was lodged just under the dog’s right eye, according to a police report. It was not immediately clear why the warrant wasn’t sought earlier.

On the night the dog was stabbed, police wrote in the warrant, Factor attempted to break into a house next to the garage and later swung a knife at employees of a nearby bar.

Lucy has recovered since the stabbing, said Theresa Beck, Lucy’s owner.
