Man accused of trying to push ex-girlfriend from moving car
Gil Nelson, 21, also grabbed steering wheel from woman, causing it to crash into curb, according to court records. Police arrested him after he fled scene.
A 21-year-old man is accused of trying to push his ex-girlfriend from a moving car, police said.
Bethany police arrested Gil Nelson on Wednesday on a complaint of domestic abuse after he steered the woman's car into a curb near SW 15 and Council Road and left the scene, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Friday in Oklahoma County District Court.
The woman told police she was giving Nelson a ride to work when they began arguing over money. Nelson, the father of the woman's 3-year-old child, tried to push the driver out of the car near Airport and Council roads and then hit her twice on the side of the head, the affidavit states.
Nelson began kicking the car windows, cracking the windshield in two places, police said.
He grabbed the steering wheel and yanked it to the right, causing the car to hit the curb and damage both right side tires, police reported.
He walked away and was arrested near NW 21 and Council Road. Nelson remained in custody Friday in the Oklahoma County jail, with bail set at $4,000, a jail official said.
