Man awaits extradition from Oklahoma in Texas slaying

DILL CITY — State and federal authorities on Sunday apprehended a suspect wanted in the death of a Texas man.

William Kevin Knittel, 47, was arrested near Dill City. He is wanted on a murder charge in connection with the death of James J. Lamy, 37, of Converse, Texas, whose decapitated body was found near the Guadalupe River on Oct. 26.

Knittel is being held in the Washita County jail in Cordell while he awaits extradition to Texas.
