BY LAURA SUMMERS, Tulsa World Published: June 9, 2014

BARTLESVILLE — A 23-year-old Bartlesville man was charged on Monday with beating a pregnant woman and causing the child she was carrying to be stillborn.

Washington County District Judge Curtis DeLapp set a $200,000 bond for Michael Edward Bosworth who faces a felony charge of domestic assault and battery against a pregnant woman resulting in miscarriage to unborn child.

Bartlesville police received a call on June 2 about a man punching a woman inside a convenience store and in the parking lot in the 400 Block of West 14th Street. The victim told police Bosworth, who is an ex-boyfriend, had met her at the store supposedly to give her back some property, but instead he pulled her by the hair and tried to force her into his vehicle, a court affidavit stated. The woman was able to get away from Bosworth, but he followed her into the store where he punched her hard in the left side of her stomach, along with injuring her hand, the affidavit stated.
