Man charged in shooting

A Midwest City man was charged Thursday with first-degree murder in Oklahoma County District Court in the shooting death of a Norman man.

Donald Alvin Davis Jr., 56, is accused of shooting Patrick Plumlee, 34, in the back with a sawed-off shotgun Aug. 4.

According to court records, Davis told police he was trying to force Plumlee off his property when the shotgun discharged, firing into Plumlee's back.

Davis also was charged with possession of a sawed-off shotgun and possession of methamphetamine.
