An Oklahoma City man accused of stabbing his neighbor told police the man was trying to use voodoo against him.
Police were called about 4:30 a.m. Thursday to an apartment complex in the 2800 block of SW 59 in reference to a stabbing, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.
James Wright, 67, thought his neighbor was using voodoo against him, Knight said. That led to a confrontation that ended when Wright hit his neighbor with a wrench and stabbed him, he said.
The neighbor was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, Knight said.
Wright was arrested on a complaint of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and taken to the Oklahoma County jail.
He is being held without bail on the complaint and on complaints in Coal, Garvin and Pontotoc counties, jail officials said.
