Three people have died after three traffic accidents Thursday, authorities reported.

Robert M. Harris, 38, of Lawton

About 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Harris was driving a vehicle west on State Highway 7 about a mile west of SE 75 Street when the vehicle abruptly made a left turn into the median, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times. Harris was ejected about 36 feet from the vehicle, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Harris, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

Unidentified man in Oklahoma City

About 6 a.m., a man crashed his pickup into a tree near 11700 N Coltrane Road, west of Frontier City between NE 122 and E Hefner Road, Oklahoma City police said.

The man, who was not identified, was driving south when his pickup went off the road to the left for unknown reasons, police said. An investigation is ongoing.

Unidentified person in Geary

One person died Thursday in a fiery crash that involved two tanker trucks on U.S. 270, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The collision happened shortly after noon, six miles north of Geary, closing all four lanes of the highway, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

One tanker carrying crude oil caught fire after the collision, and the driver of the truck died at the scene, Lt. Betsy Randolph said. The fire prevented emergency response crews from getting to the vehicle, Randolph said.

The driver of the other tanker, which was carrying citric acid, escaped with minor injuries, she said. has disabled the comments for this article.
