A man died Monday night in an oil rig accident in southeast Oklahoma City, authorities said Tuesday. Firefighters and paramedics were called about 10 p.m. Monday to a rig at 3400 SE 59, fire Deputy Chief Marc Woodard said. Police officers also responded to reports of a man being “crushed” at the rig site, police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. Crews freed Peter Cleeland, 45, from underneath metal, but he was in full cardiac arrest, authorities said. The rig is owned and operated by Horizon Energy Services, LLC. Greg Williams, the company's safety officer, said he couldn't comment until an investigation is complete.
