Man faces complaint in crash near Broadway Extension in Oklahoma City

A pickup hit a tractor-trailer near Broadway Extension and NW 122 Monday in Oklahoma City. The driver of the pickup was arrested.

A passenger was in critical condition after the pickup he was riding in slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer early Monday, officials reported Monday.

The passenger, Davion Gaines, 21, of Oklahoma City, was taken to OU Medical Center, the Oklahoma City police reported.

The driver of the pickup, Alex Nikdel, 22, of Oklahoma City, was arrested on a driving under the influence with great bodily injury complaint, police said. The crash happened about 5:20 a.m. near Broadway Extension and NW 122.

Nikdel was treated for a broken ankle after the collision, police said.

Nikdel was booked into the Oklahoma County jail and his bail was set at $5,500, a jail official reported.
