A Blanchard man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting of his ex-wife at a store they owned.

Blanchard police responded about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to Gator’s Deli, 1235 NE 10, and found Gaye Keeler, 57, dead from apparent gunshot wounds, McClain County Sheriff Don Hewett said.

Witnesses at the convenience store told investigators Larry Keeler, 65, entered the store and shot his ex-wife.

Hewett said Larry and Gaye Keeler own Gator’s Deli and were going through a divorce before the shooting.

Gaye Keeler had been granted a victim’s protective order against Larry Keeler, but it expired sometime before Wednesday, Hewett said.

Officers arrested Larry Keeler at his home on a complaint of murder. He was booked into McClain County jail in Purcell.

Investigators with the McClain County sheriff’s office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating the case, Hewett said. has disabled the comments for this article.
