The heist was caught on tape by surveillance cameras.
The robbery happened Sunday at the doughnut store at 4400 NW 39. The only worker in the store, Cheryl Powell, 45, said a man walked into the store about 9:30 p.m. wearing the mask and carrying a gun and crowbar, according to a police report.
The robber used the crowbar to open two cash registers and the office in the back of the store, the report stated. Powell ran out of the store while he was in the back.
Police would not say how much money was taken, but said the man took a coin box and cash from the two registers. A witness said he saw a gold Chevrolet Camaro in the parking lot he thought may have belonged to the robber.
Police described the robber as a skinny white male in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a yellow and gray plaid shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
