Man of Steel is out; is a sequel near? And more about The Posthuman Project! Matt Price and Kyle Roberts discuss on the Planet 46 Comics Show.

* TOPIC 1: MAN OF STEEL IS RELEASED; WHAT DO MATT AND KYLE THINK?
Director Zack Snyder (“Watchmen”) is tasked with updating Superman for the 21st century in “Man of Steel,” a potentially herculean task he accomplishes with mixed success.

The screenplay by David S. Goyer (“Batman Begins”) takes elements from the 75-year history of the character, and adds in new pieces as well, to make a Superman movie that’s unlike any we’ve seen before.

The film suffers from a few problems in pacing and plot, but for fans who want a Superman who throws a punch, “Man of Steel” provides quite a haymaker. Read more at newsok.com/blogs/nerdage and in the Weekend Look Edition of The Oklahoman

* TOPIC 2: MAN OF STEEL SEQUEL?
According to a report at Deadline, Warner Bros. is already fast-tracking a sequel to “Man of Steel,” with Zack Snyder reportedly returning to direct. Screenwriter David Goyer is also expected to return. ”Man of Steel,” starring Henry Cavill as Superman, will hit theaters Friday. Goyer’s deal is also said to include the screenplay for an upcoming “Justice League” film.

Some of this will depend on Man of Steel’s box office, but early indications are strong.

* TOPIC 3: THE POSTHUMAN PROJECT TRAILER AND COMIC BOOK
Director Kyle Roberts has revealed the official trailer for “The Posthuman Project.”

Roberts’ film “Posthuman” filmed in Oklahoma over the past few months. Matt Price and Sterling Gates wrote the film and comic book prequel. “Posthuman” is about teen-agers who receive a genetic boost of super abilities.

Gates will appear at Price’s comic shop, Speeding Bullet Comics, 614 N Porter in Norman, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on June 15 to sign copies of the prequel comic book for the film, which is also now available. Artist Mario Wytch, Roberts, and some of the film’s stars are also set to appear.

The film stars Kyle Whalen, Lindsay Sawyer, Alex Harris, Collin Place, Josh Bonzie and Rett Terrell.
