Anthony Wayne Bekinnie entered a blind guilty plea in Pontotoc County District Court on Thursday. He will spend 20 years in prison, with 10 years suspended, Pontotoc County Assistant District Attorney Chris Ross said.
The case came to authorities' attention when the girl, then 13, called the state Human Services Department and said she was pregnant, but never had sex.
"She tells them she remembers one time when she was on some kind of medication and she woke up the next day and her privates hurt," Ross said. The girl also named Bekinnie as the suspect.
Bekinnie denied any involvement with the girl, but then admitted he had sex with her after DNA proved he was the father of her child.
Bekinnie has several other misdemeanor convictions, including a 1997 conviction for domestic abuse, plus money judgments and evictions.
