Man sentenced to two years in prison for Twitter insult

A Kuwait man has been sentenced to two years in prison for insulting the country’s ruler on Twitter, according to Reuters.

The verdict stated that a tweet written by Rashid Saleh al-Anzi “stabbed the rights and powers of the Emir” Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah.



Anzi has 5,700 Twitter followers and is expected to file an appeal, his lawyer said.
