Police are investigating the early Friday shooting death of a man. It is Lawton’s seventh homicide case of the year.

About 2:20 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots fired in the 7800 block of NW Welco, where a man was found lying in a driveway, Lawton police Capt. Craig Akard said.

Officers said Timothy Hill, 37, suffered several gunshot wounds and died.

Investigators determined Hill arrived at his home and parked his car. When he got out of the car, an unknown person shot him. Officers found numerous shell casings in the street, Akard said.

Hill’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Oklahoma City for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.

Police have not made any arrests and are continuing to interview people who may have information about the killing, Akard said.
