Jose Arturro Mendez, 33, was taken to St. John Medical Center in critical condition, Tulsa police Cpl. C.J. Jackson said.

Witnesses said about seven people were fighting inside the bar when one to three shots were fired, Jackson said.

Mendez was shot inside the Trapeze Lounge, 3113 S 101 East Ave., about 7:55 p.m., he said.

The shooter is described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 35 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with dark hair in a long ponytail.

No casings were recovered inside the building, leading police to believe Mendez was shot with a revolver.
