The estranged husband of an Edmond woman was shot dead after threatening the woman's friend with a knife inside the home, police said.

No names have been released.

About 12:55 p.m. Sunday, a caller at 1505 Louis Scott Street reported to police that he'd shot an intruder who had a knife. When police arrived, they found one man dead at the scene with at least three bullet wounds, police spokeswoman Jennifer Monroe said.

The husband, who had a key to the house, apparently had come inside the home, found the two inside and began to argue with the man. The husband went to his vehicle, grabbed a large knife and was shot to death during a confrontation inside the home, Monroe said.

The wife and her friend were being questioned by police and the scene was being processed Sunday afternoon. No arrests have been made.
