Man shot to death in early morning burglary attempt

A 44-year-old man is city's latest homicide victim after he was fatally shot inside a north Tulsa home during an attempted burglary early Tuesday.

Officers were called about 3 a.m. to a home in the 6300 block of North Elwood Avenue and discovered the body of a man inside a bedroom who had been wounded in the torso, Cpl. Mark Sheldon said.

The homeowner told police that he confronted a man outside the residence who was reportedly trying to break into a Honda Prelude, he said.
