PONCA CITY — Law officers are investigating an overnight shooting death, and police remain at the scene of the crime this morning.
The man, who is in his 40s, has not yet been identified, said Sherry Bowers, Ponca City police spokeswoman.
Bowers said officers were called to the 100 block of S Oak Street about 3 a.m. after a report of shots being fired was made. When officers arrived they found the man lying outside of a duplex, Bowers said.
No one has been arrested, and the death is in the early stages of a homicide investigation, Bowers said. A medical examiner is en route from Stillwater, Bowers said.
