DEL CITY — A drive-by shooting Wednesday left a man conscious but with severe injuries, police Capt. Jody Suit said.
The victim's identity was not released.
Police and emergency responders received a call about 4:15 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 3200 block of Dentwood Terrace where they found a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound, Suit said.
Green Caprice seen
Witnesses said three males were in a green Chevy Caprice, possibly with 20-inch rims, when they pulled up next to the victims' vehicle, he said.
There was “some kind of altercation,” Suit said, and shots were fired into the victims' car, which held three people.
The altercation is thought to have started at a convenience store at the intersection of SE 44 and Bryant Avenue, and then continued about two blocks to the neighborhood where the victim was shot, Suit said.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the altercation, he said.
