Man walking on I-40 killed in Canadian County

YUKON — Authorities say a man was struck and killed while walking along Interstate 40 in Canadian County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the man was walking near the eastbound lanes of I-40 at Garth Brooks Boulevard when he was struck by a car early Friday morning.

The wreck caused the shutdown of parts of Interstate 40 for about an hour Friday morning.

Authorities say the driver of the car was also injured in the collision.

A local television station reports that troopers have not yet released the name of the pedestrian but say he lived in El Reno. has disabled the comments for this article.
