CORN - A man wanted for questioning in connection with a Texas murder case might be in the Washita/Custer county region, law enforcement agencies were warned late Friday night by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

"We were alerted to be on the lookout for a man from around San Antonio who is a person of interest in a murder case down there," said Kenneth Tidwell, Custer County's interim sheriff. "I don't think there has been a positive sighting, but we've been told he has family in the area and there's reason to believe this is where he might end up."

In Corn, Heritage Village nursing home director Martin Hall ordered the facility locked down after hearing the news. The nursing home houses 96 residents and 15 night-shift workers. Police helicopters were also reportedly seen flying in the area at nearby Crowder Lake.

"I didn't want to take any chances," Hall said. "I wanted to protect our residents and our staff."

The Washita County Sheriff's office didn't return calls.
