An Oklahoma City couple were arrested after a police officer saw a person fire a gun from a vehicle in Bricktown.

Kayla Marie Carter, 25, was arrested early Sunday on complaints of discharging a weapon from a vehicle, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, receiving/concealing stolen property, as well as on other city warrants. Rodney Bernard Hines II, 24, was arrested on complaints of transporting a loaded firearm and receiving/concealing stolen property.

An officer was patrolling Bricktown about 1 a.m. Sunday near 100 E Main St. While the officer was in his patrol car, he saw a couple arguing with people outside of City Walk, 108 E Main St., according to the incident report.

The man and woman got into a car and the woman yelled and fired several shots up into the air from the car, according to the report.

The officer immediately arrested both people and noticed that the woman was “extremely intoxicated” and had “very slurred speech, erratic movements and was unable to walk without assistance,” according to the report.

Officers took custody of the pistol and the shell casings and determined it was a gun stolen from a southwest Oklahoma City home on Feb. 2, according to the report.

Carter and Hines were taken to the Oklahoma County jail. Carter’s bail was set at $29,000, while Hines’ bail was set at $4,000, a jail official said Monday.
