A man and a woman leaving a concert Wednesday at the Zoo Amphitheater were shot and beaten by unknown attackers, an Oklahoma City police report states.

Michael Shawn Martin, 44, and Jessica Leigh Robinson, 36, were leaving the Mayhem Festival concert featuring Slipknot. As they walked near NE 44 and Martin Luther King Avenue, Martin yelled at a vehicle to “slow down” because “it almost ran them over,” according to the incident report.

Robinson told police the vehicle backed up and the driver got out and punched her in the face. Robinson said another passenger got out of the vehicle and started to yell at Martin, who told the driver that “he should not be hitting a girl,” the report states.

Robinson told police she saw the driver pull a silver revolver out of his pants and shoot Martin. She said the man stole her purse, which contained $150 in cash and two iPhones.

Robinson and Martin were taken to a hospital. Both are expected to recover from their injuries, Oklahoma City police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

Police think there were four people in the vehicle.
