; created a ranking of the coaches in the NCAA Tournament based on their playing careers, with Oklahoma State's Travis Ford and Oklahoma's Lon Kruger ranking pretty high.

But Tulsa coach Danny Manning tops them all.

Manning is deemed the No. 1 seed among NCAA Tournament coaches for his College Basketball Hall of Fame credentials, a 1988 national championship with Kansas and a strong NBA career that was derailed by injuries.

Ford played in a Final Four with Kentucky in 1993. Kruger was an all-around athlete and a two-time Big Eight Player of the Year at Kansas State.
