CHICKASHA — A Ninnekah man drowned Sunday at Lake Chickasha, police said.
About 6 p.m., officers were called to the lake where Nathan Farmer, 40, had been pulled from the water on the eastern shoreline and was unresponsive, Chickasha Interim Police Chief Elip Moore said.
Farmer was pronounced dead at the scene about 6:30 p.m., Moore said.
He had last been seen with family and friends in the water and is thought to have been submerged for about half an hour before he was found, Moore said.
“This incident is under investigation, but appears to be an unfortunate accidental incident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nathan's loved ones during this difficult time,” he said.
