Education is a calling. You're either called to serve or you aren't. I'm a retired educator, a former administrator and a lifelong supporter of children. Currently I'm serving as a community consultant on the three-person administrative team at Douglass Mid-High School. Although I was asked to assist Douglass during its time of need, I feel compelled to offer my talents and passion for public education to the students, staff and Douglass community.

It's clear that Superintendent Karl Springer, district staff and the current Douglass principal and her staff are teaming up to restore the great Douglass pride. The evidence of this hard work will be seen when all 107 seniors walk across the stage and get their diplomas. The weeks and months to come will be tough and trying; the students need your help more than ever. Those students have the support of the superintendent, board of education, the teachers and staff.

We appreciate the concerns of the community and the citizens. We must step up and help. We express our sincere thanks to the community partners and volunteers who've already committed to Douglass students. We need you!
