Oklahoma City, Tulsa and other school districts remain closed today

Many school districts throughout Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City and Tulsa, are closed again today because of the weather. Many colleges and universities also are closed.

Concerns about slick roadways and frigid temperatures caused school administrators throughout the state to cancel classes again today.

Many districts, including Oklahoma City and Tulsa, announced their plans Tuesday afternoon, giving students, staff and parents some warning. Edmond, Deer Creek, Moore, Midwest City-Del City, Mustang, Norman and Putnam City school districts also are closed today.

Steve Lindley, a spokesman for Putnam City, said administrators decided to cancel school today because they were concerned about road conditions and bitterly cold weather.
