EDMOND - Students and visitors will gather Saturday at Premier Martial Arts in Edmond to raise money for charity by performing kicks and breaking boards.

The event starts at 11 a.m. with a safety seminar designed to educate children on how to protect themselves during dangerous situations, said Rebekah Graham, program director at Premier Martial Arts, 14416 Lincoln Blvd.
The safety seminar will be followed by the Board Breaking Extravaganza where the participants will have their friends and families sponsor them.
Donations will be collected for every kick a participant completes during a certain time frame.
Food and drinks also will be available.
Graham said organizers hope to make the fund-raiser an annual event.
"One of our major things is to focus on children, and we want to make sure we're helping kids," Graham said.
