The act applies to violent offenders who are convicted Nov. 1 or later. Those convicted earlier are not required to register.
Registration is required for the following crimes: murder, manslaughter, shooting with intent to kill, assault, battery and bombing.
Violent offenders must provide an address to a police department or sheriff's office within three days of sentencing or release. Offenders who enroll in a school must alert the campus security.
Violent offenders who move to Oklahoma after Nov. 1 also must register.
Offenders will remain registered for at least 10 years after sentence completion.
